Director: Hannah Walti
Set in the Inuit village of Inukjuak, Inukjuak offers a poetic and personal look at Inuit life in the 2020s. Co-created by Inuk social worker Geela Kumarluk and European filmmaker Hannah Walti, the film explores themes of resilience, healing, and the push for Inuit self-governance. Through heartfelt conversations and community scenes, the film reflects on historical trauma and celebrates the strength and traditions of the Inuit people, 100 years after Nanook of the North was filmed in the same region.
