The Montreal International Film Festival is proud to be the first and only partner in Quebec of GEI. The partnership allows local talent to access international entry-level work opportunities within the entertainment industry, while talent from abroad can access opportunities in Quebec.

The partnership benefits the next generations of filmmakers. From job opportunities, mentorship, workshops, events, networking and more! The collaboration focuses on creating lasting careers within the entertainment industry for the youth and members of underrepresented communities.

Group Effort Initiative (GEI) was launched and financed by Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively in August 2020. Run through their companies, Maximum Effort and B for Effort, GEI strives to create a pipeline for members of underrepresented communities to get real experience towards lasting careers within the entertainment industry.
