The Montreal International Film Festival was founded by HELM Entertainment and is Associated with the HELM Foundation, 10% of all profits help our creative youth, our mission is to contribute towards the development of young creatives and filmmakers while funding scholarships, creative projects and programs for underpriviledged youth. Let's create more opportunities and be a support system for our young creatives within the entertainment field. The Awards Competition accepts entries until July 15th 2021, the festival activities including; workshops with experts, Q&A’s, guest speakers seminars, scene breakdowns, screenings and more are held for one week; from Monday August 16th until the Annual Montreal International Film Festival Awards Gala on Sunday 22nd 2021.

The Official Regulations:


The Montreal International Film Festival accepts projects from anywhere in the world, it is an international competition.

1) Eligibility Requirements:

All entries must at least have subtitled in English or French. Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry to the Festival and to use all music, images, and content in the entry.

All entries must fit professional standards guideline.

2) Submission Guidelines

∙ Projects must be submitted via an online screener like Vimeo or other secure online platform. (It is recommended that films submitted via online screener be available to download). We recommand including a cover letter for yourself and your project.

∙ Only complete entries (including fee payment ) will be considered.

∙ You can enter the festival by applying through filmfreeway or directly on the Montreal International Film Festival Website:
https://www.montrealinternationalfilmfestival.com/submissions
The committee will only consider final versions submitted.

∙ Students can apply only for the Short Film Selection

3) Deadlines
For the 2021 Festival the deadline is : July 15th 2021

4) Entry Fees
Each entry must be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee. Entry fees are not refundable. Fees cover registration, registration notification, full consideration by the programming department, and notification of the results. Must be paid online.
