The Event:
The Montreal International Film Festival's program includes a week long celebration of activities with event panels, screenings, Q&A's and workshops hosted by industry leaders.
Mission:
The non-profit organization raises funds and creates opportunities for our youth to access traineeships, scholarships, job opportunities and funding for their projects within the entertainment industry. Because wonderful things happen when we come together for the creative legacy of tomorrow.
Recognized as one of Canada’s upcoming leading festivals and industry events, the Montreal International Film Festival features innovative and original films from around the world and is a premier destination for filmmakers to connect and share their craft.

The esteemed international film competition is open to worldwide submissions, international filmmakers are invited to submit to the competition.

The awards hosts a panel of nominees within the following categories; feature films, tv series, documentaries, animation and short films.

The Official Regulations:
The Montreal International Film Festival accepts projects from anywhere in the world, it is an international competition.

1) Eligibility Requirements:
All entries must at least have subtitled in English or French. Entrant confirms and warrants required legal authority to submit the entry to the Festival and to use all music, images, and content in the entry.
All entries must fit professional standards guideline.

2) Submission Guidelines
∙ Projects must be submitted via an online screener like Vimeo or other secure online platform. (It is recommended that films submitted via online screener be available to download). We recommend including a cover letter for yourself and your project.
∙ Only complete entries (including fee payment ) will be considered.
∙ You can enter the festival by applying through Filmfreeway or directly on the Montreal International Film Festival Website.
The committee will only consider final versions submitted.
∙ Students can apply only for the Short Film Selection

3) Deadlines:
For the 2023 Festival the deadline is : August 23, 2023

4) Entry Fees
Each entry must be accompanied by the appropriate entry fee of $70.00 (CAD). Entry fees are not refundable. Fees cover registration, registration notification, full consideration by the programming department, and notification of the results. Must be paid online.
