One of our many success stories!
The Montreal International Film Festival in partnership with the Group Effort Initiative gave the opportunity to three candidates to have their first job ever in the entertainment industry: Leah Divinagracia, Leda Doyon, and Noah Shuklinsky! They got the chance to work on the set of the upcoming film “Mayday” and “Deadpool & Wolverine”. This entry level job gave them the opportunity to begin their dream career!

Role: On-Set Production Assistant/ In Office Production Assistant
Location: Toronto & Vancouver
The Montreal International Film Festival and GEI strives to create a pipeline for members of underrepresented communities to get real experience toward lasting careers within the entertainment industry. Offering early career entertainment job opportunities, internships, mentorships, and education that focuses on professional development, soft skills, and entertainment-specific training.
How to apply
Candidates must meet the criteria below to be considered for our program and production assistant candidacy:

Must be 18 years or older

Have full-time availability, 40 - 60 hours a week.

Dates TBD! One of the productions in the program begins on September 9th, 2024.

Must have work authorization (Canada)

Willing to relocate if living in the Montreal area - According to production's location.

Driver's license and vehicle are preferred but not required!

Interested in a long-term career in the industry. This opportunity is for PAs in different departments (costume, lighting, camera, grip, and many more).

The Montreal International Film Festival is proud to be the first and only partner in Quebec of GEI. The partnership allows local talent to access international entry-level work opportunities within the entertainment industry, while talent from abroad can access opportunities in Quebec.
Group Effort Initiative (GEI) was launched and financed by Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively in August 2020. Run through their companies, Maximum Effort and B for Effort, GEI strives to create a pipeline for members of underrepresented communities to get real experience towards lasting careers within the entertainment industry.
